Founder Mario MOMO

Cultural promoter and founder of the ZIMIX FESTIVAL, Mario MOMO was born on 27 August 1986 in Cameroon, where he grew up and attended primary and secondary school. He moved to Lausanne, Switzerland in 2006 to continue his university studies where he obtained his Engineering degree and a Master’s degree in electrical networks and energy. While working as a taxi driver to finance his studies, he understood the need to improve the quality of Afro events offered in Switzerland as his clients were missing well-organised Afro party venues. This is how he created MKC EVENTS for the organisation of intercultural events.

Passionate about organisation, the man who goes by the name Mario MKC wears two hats in his daily life. On the one hand, project manager at the SBB and on the other hand cultural entrepreneur.

He has been managing construction projects at SBB (Swiss Federal Railways) for the past ten years, with responsibility for project finances, deadlines, objectives, risks and resources.

One of the projects he managed was the management of the construction of the necessary works for the power supply of trains in Geneva. An exciting project that allowed me to contribute to the mobility of the future in the Geneva region.

With his second hat, he has recently become a recognised player in the field of intercultural event organisation in Switzerland and his company MKC EVENTS, an address for the promotion and organisation of Afro and Kpop music concerts.

With MKC EVENTS, he has already offered the public several unique moments with the concerts of MCND (very first Kpop concert in Switzerland), Richard Bona & Alfredo Rodriguez (Afro-Cuban Jazz), Flavour (AfroLove), Yemi Alade (Afropop) and MIYAVI (Japan Pop).

Particularly sensitive to the values of solidarity and mutual aid, Mario MKC supports and accompanies socio-cultural projects in Switzerland and Africa.

His LinkedIn profile is a showcase for these projects.
